How to install Sage 50 on a workstation that has Sage DacEasy (for conversion purposes only) installed?

Note: Installation of Sage 50 and Sage DacEasy on the same workstation is necessary for the conversion process only.

In order to have Sage 50 and Sage DacEasy on the same workstation (for conversion process only) follow the following process:

Option I: If Sage 50 has NOT been installed previously on the workstation

  1. Log into Sage DacEasy, post all unposted transactions in ALL modules
  2. Make a back up
  3. Uninstall Pervasive 10 using Windows control panel
  4. Browse to C:\Program files or C:\Program Files (x86), right-click Pervasive folder, and then click Delete
  5. Install Sage 50 (this will install Pervasive v11)
  6. See attached for detailed instruction on how to proceed with conversion of data from Sage DacEasy to Sage 50

Option II: If Sage 50 has been installed previously on the workstation

  1. Uninstall ALL versions of Pervasive through Windows control panel
  2. Browse to C:\Program files or C:\Program Files (x86), right-click Pervasive folder, and then click Delete
  3. Run a repair on Sage 50 (this will reinstall Pervasive v11), refer to Article ID 10602: "How to run Repair" in the Related resources section
  4. Run Sage DacEasy set up files, select Modify, custom, select modules to be installed
  5. DO NOT select Pervasive as an option
  6. This will allow for Sage 50 to see Sage DacEasy company folders
  7. See attached for detailed instruction on how to proceed with conversion of data from Sage DacEasy to Sage 50.
