How do I import a change request into Project Management from Estimating? (SQL) (Supplemental Video)

Notes:

  • This process requires that both Estimating and Accounting be installed on the same system.
  • For SQL version of Sage Estmating you will need to have installed Sage Estmating 19.12 and Sage 300 CRE 18.4.
  • Changes you make to the estimate in Estimating after importing are not automatically reflected on the change request. To update the estimate information on the change request, you must first open the change request in Project Management and then click Estimate Change Request on the Price/Cost Estimate tab. This opens the estimate and refreshes the change request with any changes that were made outside of Project Management. If you make changes on the change request but not the estimate, these will not be reflected in the estimate and will be lost if you later import the estimate back into the change request.

How do I import a change request into Project Management from Estimating?

  1. In Project Management, create the change request into which the estimate will be imported.
  2. Select the Price/Cost Estimate tab.
  3. Click Estimate Change Request and select the appropriate option:
    • Create New Estimate: Create a new estimate in Estimating so you can import it into the change request. After you create and save the estimate, you must return to this tab and choose Select Existing Estimate to import the estimate into the change request.
    • Open Existing Estimate: Opens an existing estimate in Estimating so you can view and edit it prior to importing it into the change request. If an estimate was already imported into the change request, you can open the imported estimate to view or make changes. After you edit and save the estimate, you must return to this tab and choose Select Existing Estimate to import the estimate into the change request.
    • Select Existing Estimate: Imports the selected estimate into the change request. If an estimate was previously imported into the change request, this replaces that information with data from the newly selected estimate.
  4. If you create a new estimate or open an existing estimate, you must select Interface, Send to Change Request in Estimating to start the import process. This option is only available on the Estimating menu if you have accessed the estimate through the change request.
  5. If any issues are found during the import, you can select Yes to fix the issues or No to cancel the import and view a list of issues.
  6. After you import an estimate, the text above the Estimate Change Request button displays the name of the imported estimate.

Note: The video below uses “Select Existing Estimate” in Estimate Change Request and Location from Sage Estimating to Map the Extra.
