The "New" file is the file where new transactions are created but have not been posted.

The "Current" file is the file where posted transactions reside.

The "History" file is the file where posted transactions from the Current file have been moved to. This is usually done to reduce the amount of transactions in the Current file for performance purposes.

Note: Not all applications within the Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate will have a New, Current, or History file.
