Slow performance when running Sage 100 ERP Standard through a UNC path
Description
Cause

When you istalling Sage 100 workstation through a mapped drive on a Windows 7 (or later) workstation with User Account Control (UAC) enabled, the Start in path on the Sage 100 Standard shortcut is changed to a UNC path

Resolution
  1. For Windows 7, Set User Account Control (UAC) to Never Notify
    1. From the Windows Desktop, access Control Panel, User Accounts
    2. Select, or search for and select Change User Account Control Settings
    3. Verify or change the slide setting down to Never Notify
    4. Click OK to save changes and exit
  2. Uninstall the Workstation Setup client install for Sage 100
  3. Reboot the workstation
  4. Reinstall the Workstation Setup client install for Sage 100 on the workstation, using a mapped drive letter
    • Example: From "M:\MAS90\Wksetup\Autorun.exe" where "M:\" has been mapped to a sharepoint
    • if you do not have a mapped drive to one level above the server's MAS90 folder, you will need to create a mapped drive first.
Note: for Windows 8 or Windows 10, lowering the User Account Control setting to Never Notify does not fully disable User Account Control (please consult your IT person if experiencing issues as this would need to be disabled via Windows Registry or Policy change).
