Tune Up a company database
Description

 In Sage 100 Contractor 2016 and later, Tune Up replaces the Rebuild Indexes feature.

Tuning up optimizes data, so the company database runs efficiently and without errors.

Sage 100 Contractor runs Tune Up automatically during nightly maintenance based on your maintenance schedule.

You can also run Tune Up on demand from Sage 100 Contractor Database Administration and Tune Up Company Databases.

Resolution

Tune up the company database from Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.

To tune up a company database

  1. Connect to Sage 100 Contractor Database Administration.
  2. Click Tune Up, Back Up, Restore.
  3. Click Tune Up Company Databases.
  4. Select the company.
  5. Click Run Tune Up.

Important

  • Log all users out of the company before you start a Tune Up.
  • Sage 100 Contractor disconnects active users 60 seconds after the Tune Up starts.
  • Disconnecting users can cause data issues if they're working on unsaved transactions.
    • Examples include posting payroll to the general ledger or editing an unsaved estimate.
  • Users logged in during a Tune Up receive a warning before disconnection.
