How do I create an Electronic Payment Prenote in Accounts Payable for a vendor?
Description
Cause
Resolution
  1. Go to Accounts Payable, Setup, Vendors.
  2. Select the vendor.
  3. Go to the Electronic Payment Settings tab.
  4. Confirm that the Prenote only box is checked.
  5. Confirm the Prenote date is blank.
  6. Save the vendor setup.
  7. Follow the steps in How do I set up and use Electronic Payments in Accounts Payable? to select at least one invoice for the prenote vendor and generate an ACH file.
  8. Once the prenote is generated, the Prenote only will automatically be unmarked and the Prenote Date will be populated on the vendor setup.

Note: The Prenote Date must be blank in order to generate a prenote. The date fills when the prenote is generated. If you have already generated a prenote for this vendor and you want to generate another one, you must first clear this date. Otherwise, actual payments will be generated. Audit Setup Activity needs to be selected in order to clear the Prenote Date. See How do I use Audit setup activity? for steps to turn ASA on and then off.

Background Tasks may show No Information to Print because no amounts generated on the ACH file. However, a zero dollar ACH file will exist that can be uploaded to the bank.
