| Creating SQL or Windows authenticated users and Company Administrators |
Resolution | To create an SQL-authenticated user - Connect to Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Company Admins/SQL Logins, then Add SQL Server Login.
- From the Authentication picklist, select SQL Server Authentication.
- Type the SQL user name in the Login field.
- Type the desired password in the Password field.
- Check the box for Add as a member of the sysadmin server role.
NOTE: Select this option when you want to grant the user access to Sage 100 Contractor Database Administration. - Click Create SQL Login.
- Add this new user to the company databases by clicking Company Admins/SQL Logins and Add Company Admins.
- Connect to Sage 100 Contractor by selecting SQL Server Authentication in the Connect to SQL Server window.
To create a Windows authenticated User - Connect to Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Company Admins/SQL Logins and Add SQL Server Login.
- Select Windows Authentication in the Authentication picklist.
- In the Login field, type the Windows authenticated user name [Domain name\username].
- Skip the Password field.
- Check the box for Add as a member of the sysadmin server role.
NOTE: Select this option when you want to grant the user access to Sage 100 Contractor Database Administration. - Click Create SQL Login.
- Add the new user to the company databases by clicking Company Admins/SQL Logins and Add Company Admins.
- Connect to Sage 100 Contractor by selecting Windows Authentication on the Connect to SQL Server window.
To manually add an existing SQL or Windows authenticated user - Open the Sage 100 Contractor company with Administrator rights.
- Open menu 7-2-2 User List.
- On a blank row, in the User Name column, enter one of the following:
- The Windows authenticated user name (for example, domainname\Username)
NOTE: For Windows authenticated users, leave the Password field blank - The SQL authenticated user name
NOTE: For SQL-authenticated users, enter a password in the Password field - Assign at least one security group to the user in the Security Group field.
- Enter Yes in the Company Admin field if the user is a company Administrator.
- Click File, Save.
To edit or change an SQL-authenticated user password - Open the Sage 100 Contractor company with Administrator rights.
- Open menu 7-2-2 User List.
- Click the User Name row of the user.
- Click the Password cell and press the delete (del) key on the computer keyboard.
- Click the Password cell again and enter a new password.
- Press Enter on the computer keyboard.
- Click File, Save.
