Prepare your windows workstation for Sage Timeslips

  • Install Sage Timeslips to the workstation
  • Create or convert a Timeslips database


Prepare Windows Workstation

  • Run File, Data Verification with Look for Errors only. If errors are found, contact Timeslips support chat by clicking here for assistance.
  • Make sure the windows Login you are using has administrative rights
  • Make sure you have enough disk space (check system requirements KB 65755)
  • Make sure your User Account Control is at the default setting in your control panel


Workstation Considerations

We recommend installing Sage Timeslips under the default path of C:\Program Files (x86)\Timeslips. If you are installing the Premium version, you must make sure you have an active internet connection to validate your account.


Finding the Serial Number, Configuration code/Activation key and Account ID

You will need your serial number, configuration code/activation key and account ID to install Sage Timeslips, register Sage Timeslips, and to receive technical support (if necessary). Sage sent this information to you in a Product Activation email message shortly after your order.


Understanding single-user configurations

When using Sage Timeslips, a single-user installation refers to any installation that has one station license. Some single-user installations include:

  • Single-user installation with one computer – If you purchased a single license of Sage Timeslips and you own a single computer, the program files and database will reside on this computer.
  • Single-user installation on a network workstation with the database on a network drive – If you purchased a single station license of Sage Timeslips Premium and your workstation is connected to a network, you will not be able to maintain a database across the network. Your Sage Timeslips Premium database must reside locally on hard drives on your workstation.


If you purchase additional licenses and would like to network your product in the future, you can install Sage Timeslips in many network environments. Our online knowledgebase includes detailed installation instructions for some of these specific network environments.   • Download the Sage Timeslips installation file. If the installation process does not start automatically, start the installation by double-clicking on the Sage Timeslips download file. The download file will extract the necessary installation file and will open a menu of options.
  • Launch the Sage Timeslips installation program.
  • Choose to Install Sage Timeslips.
  • Choose your installation path that you would like to install Sage Timeslips to
  • During the wizard when asked Please select the Type of installation, we recommend Complete installation unless you would like to remove specific components then otherwise choose Custom.
  • Once installation completes then your Timeslips product is installed.


Your Product is now installed.


Creating and converting Timeslips databases

 If you are a first time user then you will need to launch Sage Timeslips and at the main splash screen choose to Create New Database
