Image is displayed as black box (or inverted or like a photo negative) on a custom Crystal Reports form or report
Description
Cause
  • Image contains transparent background
    • Crystal Reports converts images to BMP format, which unfortunately does not support transparency for images
  • Image file size may be too large

Sage 100 Customer Support cannot assist with customizing Crystal Report forms or reports, nor with troubleshooting errors or issues that may be encountered with customized forms or reports.

  • Image contains transparent background
      • Example: Edit the image to use a white background
  • Image file size may be too large due to color depth or resolution
    • Check if the color depth is too high for the image
      • Example: Try a BMP file saved at 8-bit (256 colors), rather than 24-bit (16,777,216 colors)
    • Check if the resolution is too high for the image size.
      • Example: Perhaps the image has been saved at 600 DPI, but only 150 DPI is needed
      • Example: Perhaps the image was saved at 2"x6" in dimensions, but was shrunk down to print at 1"x3" on paper.

Note: If an image is set to print on every page of a form or report (page header), and the second and subsequent pages do not print the image properly, consider editing the form or report such that the image only displays once on the report or form (report header).
