If the SQL Server instances are no longer active and have been disabled or uninstalled, you can remove them from the startup configuration file so they no longer appear on the SQL Server name picklist when connecting to Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor, or the Sage 100 Contractor application. Workstations (Sage 100 Contractor) The following steps need to be performed on each workstation that is displaying an inactive SQL Server name: - Close Sage 100 Contractor
- On the server, click the Windows Start button, and in the Search box type %localappdata% (this is a hidden file, so you must have the option to show hidden files enabled in Windows File Explorer)
- Locate and open the Sage folder, then open the Sage 100 Contractor SQL folder
- Locate the file Sage100Contractor.user.config, right-click on it and select Open With - open with Notepad
- Locate the section of text towards the bottom that lists, etc
- Delete the name of the inactive server from the PreviousServer# line(s) it appears in
- Save the file and close it
- Open Sage 100 Contractor and click the dropdown for the SQL server name - the inactive SQL server should no longer be listed
Server (Database Administration) - Ensure you are logged into the server with the same account that was logged in when the SQL instance for Sage was installed
- Close Database Administration
- On the workstation, click the Windows Start button, and in the Search box type %localappdata% (this is a hidden file, so you must have the option to show hidden files enabled in Windows File Explorer)
- Locate and open the Sage folder, then open the Sage 100 Contractor SQL folder
- Locate the file DatabaseAdministration.user.config, right-click on it and select Open With - open with Notepad
- Locate the section of text towards the bottom that lists, etc
- Delete the name of the inactive server from the PreviousServer# line(s) it appears in
- Save the file and close it
- Open Database Administration and click the dropdown for the SQL server name - the inactive SQL server should no longer be listed.
