Before proceeding with these steps, ensure that the Sage 100 Contractor database server is updated to the latest version and that the company databases are also updated in Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
- Download the latest Sage100Contractor2#####_Setup.exe update file onto the server. See Sage 100 Contractor: Download Portal
- Copy the Sage100Contractor2#####_Setup.exe update file to the following location on the database server: [Data drive]\Sage100Con\Common\Installation.
- Rename the Sage100Contractor2#####_Setup.exe file to sage100contractor_setup.exe. Remove the numbers from the file name and ensure all letters in the file name are in lowercase - otherwise, the installer will not run.
- TIP: Open Windows File Explorer In the View menu, select the File Extensions option. This displays file name extensions and allows you to see the .exe file extension on the Sage 100 Contractor update installation file. The file name should be sage100contractor_setup.exe and not sage100contractor_setup.exe.exe
- When the workstations connect to the Sage 100 Contractor SQL Server, a prompt will display to install the latest Sage 100 Contractor update.
- Click Yes to begin the installation. If the user clicks No the upgraded company databases cannot be opened.
- When the installation is complete connect to Sage 100 Contractor and open the company database.
- After opening the company database, click the Home and Resources tab and select About Sage 100 Contractor to confirm the program is on the latest edition.
NOTE: There is a file named Instructions.html providing these same step-by-step instructions. This file is located on the Sage 100 Contractor SQL server machine in [Data drive]\Sage100Con\Common\Installation. The file can be opened in any internet browser
