| | Reverse Payroll Checks or Direct Deposits using a one-click process |
| Cause | - Payroll check lost or has an error
- Payroll check is missing deductions
- Errors updating payroll
|
| Resolution | Before you begin - For each user making reversals
- Go to Role Maintenance, Security Events and select Allow Reversal of Checks not in Current Quarter
- The Check Date is the posting date for the check reversal
- If the check date is from a prior quarter or year, enter a date in the current quarter
NOTE: Posting a check reversal to a closed quarter changes past tax reports. File amended returns - You can't reverse a check with 0.00 earnings that paid overwithheld taxes or deductions using this method. Create a new check to adjust taxes or deductions to zero. Offset it with an advance from future payroll. If not possible, contact Customer Support with specific information
- If you’re reversing a check and then creating a replacement, you must process them in separate batches
- If reversing in a past year, don’t use one-click Payroll reversal. Enter and reissue the check manually
- Use the current date for both. Fix the tax summary to avoid double-counted withholding wages
