- Go to Tasks, Quotes/Sales Orders/Proposals; then select Quotes from the submenu.
- Enter or select the Customer ID.
- Leave the Quote # field blank if you want Sage 50 to print the quote. Sage 50 will increase the quote number by one when it’s printed. Otherwise, enter a quote number or other reference number.
- Enter the date of the quote if it’s different from the displayed date. Then enter the date that the quote will expire.
- Enter the information for each item included on the quote on a separate line, including:
- The item's Quantity
- Item ID
- U/M (if applicable)
- Description
- Unit price
- Sales tax status
- Job information (if applicable).
- If you have the Hide General Ledger Accounts global option activated, Sage 50 won't display GL Account fields in this window. To modify the GL Accounts used for this transaction, click Journal
- Select the sales tax ID for this sale.
- If you intend to charge freight for shipping this order, include an amount in the Freight field.
- Click Print if you want to print and save the quote. Otherwise, click the Save button.
NOTE: Quotes aren’t posted to the general ledger. When you convert the quote to an invoice, the sale can be posted to the general ledger. Quotes can also be converted to sales orders, but again you must invoice the customer to actually post the sale. [BCB:161:Chat 50 US:ECB] |
