The setting is off in the product specific configuration .XML file -FASACCT.XMLorASSTACCT.XML

Resolution
Note:Sage 50 Fixed Assets, Sage Fixed Assets Lite Depreciation for Sage 50 and Sage Fixed Assets Lite Depreciation do not have the Customize, Asset List function.
Ensure the ability to Customize the Asset List is turned on:
In Windows Explorer go toC:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Fixed Assets\Depreciation,Depreciation NetworkorPremier Depreciation.
EdittheFASACCT.XML(Depreciation or Depreciation Network) orASSTACCT.XML(Premier Depreciation).
Ensure the tag is set to true. Example:<ConfigSettingsEnabled>true</ConfigSettingsEnabled>
If so, in the same folder, check the file size forConfigsettings.xmlfile. If the file size shows 0 kb,right clicktheConfigSetting.xmlfile, selectdeleteand clickYeswhen prompted.
Open Sage Fixed Assets and try to customize Asset List again. Close/Open Sage Fixed Assets and confirm the changes saved.
If the changes still don’t save, close Sage Fixed Assets, right click theFASACCT.XMLorASSTACCT.XMLfile, select delete and clickYeswhen prompted. Note:This will reset user preferences to the default settings.
Open the program. This will recreate the .XML files and the customization of the Asset List will now save.
Note:On 2019.1 and higher, the Configsettings.xml should automatically recreate when closing Sage Fixed Assets. If it does not recreate or the version is older than 2019.1, a repair install is necessary. For all versions, the product specific .XML files, FASACCT.XML or ASSTACCT.XML, will recreate on launch. If it does not, then the user does not have the rights for the program run properly.
