How to create a group of assets that does not have any field in common
Description
Cause

Group sorts will ignore multiple is not statements. Excessive System Number is statements can also cause problems in a group sort.

Multiple is not statements for the same field will cancel each other out and the group will include all assets.

Resolution

Workaround:

  1. Find an unused field in the general information section and use this field as the common field. Sage Fixed Assets have 10 custom fields to choose from.
  2. Go to Edit, Replace to add a common value in to the field.
  3. Create a group based on that field.

Example:

  • In a specific company Custom Field 10 is not used on any assets.
  • Custom Field 10 is populated with the word Test on the assets needed.
  • In Customize, Group manager, a group is created with the Field Criteria to find those assets:
    • Look in: "Custom Field 10"
    • Select an Operatior: "is"
    • Find What: "Test"
