| Cause | - You set Enable Begin Fields to No.
- The asset's depreciation method is NO or OC

| Resolution | Option One: Turn on Enable Begin Fields - Go to File, Edit Company.
- On the Book Defaults tab for each book, change the Enable Begin Fields from No to Yes. Click OK to save the changes.
- In the Asset Detail view, the Beginning field will now be available.
Option two: Check the depreciation method - If the depreciation method is NO or OC, the system will gray out the BEG date field
