Changing an existing variable:


  1. Open the Database Variable window in one of the following ways:
    • On the ribbon, from the Calculations group on the Data tab, click Variables.
    • In classic view, click Database menu > Formulas > Variables.
  2. Display the variable you want to change in one of these ways:
    • Use the buttons () to scroll through variable record until you display the one you want to work with.
    • Select the variable from the Variable List window:
      1. Click to open the window.
      2. Select the variable you want to change, and then click [Edit Variable].

Tip: You can edit variables "on the fly" from the Variable List whether you open it from the Database Variables window or from the Formula Tables or Item Tables window.

  1. Make the changes you need.

To change the variable name, click [Rename], and then enter the new name in the Variable field.

For more information, click on the title bar of the window, and then click a field or button.

  1. When you finish changing the variable, click [Close].
