Setting up a cost category for an item (SQL)
Description
Cause
Resolution

Each tab on the Database Item window has five New Category items available in the drop-down list. Every item must have at least one (but not more than five) categories assigned. The button title reflects the name of the category you select.

To set up a cost category for an item:

  1. pen the Items window in one of the following ways:
    • On the ribbon, from the Elements group on the Data tab, click Items.
    • In classic view, click Database menu > Items.
  2. In the Database Item window, click the first available [Category].
  3. Choose a category from the list.
  4. Complete the fields for that category on each tab of the Database Item window.

Tips:

  • The Options command allows you to set up default categories that are selected automatically whenever you create a new item.

If the item has a crew, you must include categories (labor, equipment, or both) for the crew resources.
