Changing an existing work breakdown structure (WBS)
  1. Open the Estimate WBS Settings or the Database WBS Settings window.
    • On the ribbon, click the Data > WBS.
    • In classic view, click Database > WBS
  2. Select the source.

Note: If both an estimate and a standard database are open, the Estimate WBS Settings window appears initially. (If only an estimate or a standard database is open, you cannot switch to the other option.)

    • To change a WBS code in the current estimate, select Estimate.
    • To change a WBS code in the standard database, select Database.

Note: Changing WBS codes in the standard database does not affect existing estimates.

  1. Change selected WBS codes as necessary.
    • To delete a WBS code, select the row, and then click [Delete].
    • To renumber WBS codes throughout the standard database, click [Move].
    • To remove all references to the WBS codes and their associated values from items, addons, spreadsheet sequences, and assemblies, click [Clear All]
  2. When you finish making changes, click [OK] to save them.
  3. Click [Close].

Tip: You can also change standard database WBS codes in the Database Settings window from the Data tab (Database menu in classic view).
