The unit of measure in the estimate has a different unit type than the unit of measure in the database
Description
Cause
  • The incorrect database is being selected
  • The unit of measure needs editing
Resolution

Modify the unit type on the estimate so it matches the unit type defined in the database. Or create a new unit.

Option A

In the Unit Type Resolution window, create a new unit by entering a new name for the estimate unit of measure in the New unit of measure box.

Option B

Redefine the unit type on the estimate or in the database so they match, as follows:

Steps to change the unit in the estimate

  1. Determine which unit type you want to keep (the unit types are listed in the Unit Type Resolution window)
  2. Right-click on the unit you want to change and select Edit Unit
  3. In the Type of unit list, select the unit of measure you decided to keep in step 1 and click OK

Steps to change the unit in the database

  1. Determine which unit type you want to keep (the unit types are listed in the Unit Type Resolution window)
  2. From the menu Database, Items
  3. Right-click on the item and select Edit Unit
  4. Expand the Unit of Measure list and select the unit you want to edit
  5. In the Type of unit list, select the unit of measure you decided to keep in step 1 and click OK
