Error: "TRANSACTION DATE AFTER STATEMENT DATE"
Description
Cause

The statement ending entered is prior to the date of the transaction being cleared.

Resolution

The Statement ending date you enter should be the date of your paper bank statement you received from the bank. Normally the same date should be entered in both the Statement ending date and Reconciliation date.
NOTE: The General Ledger account balances will be calculated based on the date you entered for the Reconciliation date.

NOTE: If the Statement ending date is prior to the Reconciliation date any transaction with a posting date AFTER the Statement ending date will generate the error.(Example: If you enter a Statement ending date of 05/01/2023 and Reconciliation date of 05/31/2023, transactions with a posting date up to and including 05/31/2023 will be listed in your reconciliation; however because the statement date was entered as 05/01/2023 any transaction selected to clear AFTER this date will generate the error message.)
