| Description | Note: License Manager is used on all Sage Estimating Pervasive versions and includes Sage Estimating SQL versions up to 16.11. - You must install License Manager (LM) to a Windows server or workstation.
- All license-managed machines must use TCP/IP as the network protocol.
- You cannot install LM to a Citrix or terminal server. If your application server is also the terminal server, you will need to install LM to a different and dedicated computer.
- If you use a firewall, you may need set a firewall exclusion to allow UDP port 5093. If you use multiple firewalls, you may need to set the exclusion multiple times.
- When using a USB LM protection device with virtual machines (VM), the physical server (VM host server) hosting your VM servers must be running VM software that has USB pass-through capability. Your VM software vendor (i.e. VMware or Microsoft) can confirm if your VM software has this capability. If your VM software does not have USB pass-through capability or you cannot get the virtualize LM server to recognize the USB protection device, you will need to install LM to a dedicated physical computer, or to the VM host server.

As a general rule of thumb, plugging in any USB device before first properly installing its correct USB driver can cause Windows to attempt installing a generic composite USB driver, which can create ghost drivers and prevent the proper USB driver from installing correctly. Steps to Install License Manager: - Install License Manager itself (For example, on the 13.1 Estimating download, browse to \131_Rev7_Estimating\AdditionalInstalls\LicenseManager\Server\Setup\ and run setup.exe)
- Install the protection device USB/LM drivers (For example, on the 13.1 Estimating download, browse to \131_Rev7_Estimating\Install\Prerequisites\Sentinel Protection\ and run Sentinel Protection Installer 7.6.1.exe)
- Plug in the protection device/dongle.
- Use LM Admin to add the activation codes (For example, on the download, browse to \131_Rev7_Estimating\AdditionalInstalls\LicenseManager\Admin.net\Win32\ and run WlmAdmin.exe).
- LSFORCEHOST to the workstations.
