| Unable to open the Database Utility or connect remote clients - Network 2024.1 |
Description | The error will appear as: "System Database Connection Error. Sage Fixed Assets Network cannot connect to the system database." when launching the Database Utility - Network Depreciation and Tracking. |
Resolution | Note: The .dll replacement will work for the client as well.
- If applicable, remove from the registry the reference to the 2023.1 Network server
- HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\wow6432node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield_{########} key with the Sage Fixed Assets in the Display name and the 23.1.0.0 as the version.
- Download Sage.FAS.DataLayer.Sybase20241.zip
- Right click the downloaded zip file and select Properties.
- Put a check in the Unblock box and click Apply and OK. If you see the Unblock option, you must select it before extracting.
- Note: Only if the Unblock box is not there, move on to the next step.
- Extract the Sage.FAS.DataLayer.Sybase.dll from the downloaded zip. The actual date of the DLL should be 2/7/2024 when extracted.
- On the Client, browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Fixed Assets\Common Files or on the Server browse to C:\SFAServ\Common, rename the existing Sage.FAS.DataLayer.Sybase.dll to .old and copy the extracted Sage.FAS.DataLayer.Sybase.dll to the same location.
- Open the Sage Fixed Asset Client or Database Utility.
