The 4562 shows 2022 on a 52/53 week accounting cycle
Description
Cause

On the AAP accounting cycles there is up to a 6-day gap between where the Fiscal year ends and the actual end of the year which can trigger the incorrect year to appear on the 4562 in version 2024.1.

The information on the 4562 is correct for 2023 taxes, it just shows the wrong year on the top of the report.

Resolution

To force the 2023 form to open:

  1. In Windows Explorer go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Fixed Assets\Premier Depreciation\Reports.
  2. Find the 4562h.rpt which is the 2022 form, and the 4562h2nd.rpt which is the 2023 form.
  3. Rename 4562h.rpt to be something else, then rename the 4562h2nd.rpt to be 4562h.rpt. On running the 4562, it will now have the 2023 year on the top.
Note: With the 4562h2nd.rpt renamed as 4562h.rpt, when you run the 4562 to a date which would trigger the 2023 form to launch, there will be an error saying that the 4562h2nd.rpt is missing.

This issue will be fixed in the 2024.1.1 update patch which is contingent on legislation currently pending in Congress.
