| The company folder was accidentally deleted |
Resolution | CAUTION: Use this procedure only when the user accidentally deletes the company folder from the \\Sage100Con\Company directory from Windows File Explorer. Before proceeding confirm a current backup of the company exists in the \\Sage100Con\Nightly or On-Demand folder. Step 1: Delete the database in MS SQL Server Management Studio - Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio on the server.
- Connect to the SQL Server instance where the company database is located.
- Expand Databases in the Object Explorer panel on the left.
- Locate the database you want to delete.
- Right-click on the database name. Select Delete.
- Select the box "Close existing connections" at the bottom.
- Click OK.
- Close Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
Step 2: Delete orphaned shares and tasks in Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor - Connect to Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Toolbox, Server Tools.
- Select Remove orphaned file shares. Click Remove Orphans.
- Select Remove orphaned nightly maintenance tasks. Click Remove Orphans.
- Close Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
Step 3: Stop Sharing the database in Windows Computer Management - Open Windows Computer Management.
- Expand Shared Folders on the left.
- Click Shares.
- Locate the company in the Share Name column on the right.
- Right-click the company name. Click Stop Sharing.
- Close Windows Computer Management.
Step 4: Restore a current backup of the company - Connect to Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
- Click Tune Up/Back Up/Restore.
- Click Restore Company from Backup.
- Click Browse.
- Go to the backup file:
- The default location is C:\Sage100Con\Backup\.
- Manual backups are stored in the On Demand folder.
- Scheduled backups are stored in the Nightly folder.
- Select the backup file.
- Click Open.
- From the field labeled "Restore as", verify the name of the company.
- Click Restore Company.
