How to run the Sage 100 ERP Integration Engine for CRM as an application on the Sage 100 server

Use this procedure to run Sage 100 ERP Integration Engine as an application instead of a Windows service. This setup helps troubleshoot integration issues and provides additional error details.

Cause

Running the Sage 100 ERP Integration Engine as an Application rather than Windows Service can be useful when:

  • Sage 100 ERP Integration Engine will not properly run or start as a service
  • Troubleshooting Sage 100 ERP Integration with Sage CRM problems (running as an application will display additional dialog and error details)

Resolution

 CAUTION: This solution requires advanced knowledge of Windows security and network settings. Sage isn't responsible for any issues that arise from changes to these settings. Ensure you back up all system and application databases necessary for a complete restoration. It's advisable to contact a certified consultant or your system administrator for assistance.

Create an application shortcut

  1. On the Sage 100 ERP server, open Services.
  2. Locate the correct integration service entry:
    • Sage 100 ERP Integration Engine (xxxx)
    • Sage MAS 90 and 200 Integration Engine (xxxx)
  3. Identify the port number represented by xxxx.
  4. Right-click the service and select Properties.
  5. Copy the entire value from Path to executable:
    1. Right-click the path field and select Select All.
    2. Right-click the selected path and select Copy.
  6. Right-click the Windows desktop and select New, Shortcut.
  7. In Type the location of the item, paste the copied path.
  8. Remove "-service" from the path.
  9. Confirm that only one space exists before the "-port" command.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Enter a shortcut name, or keep the default IntegrationEngine.exe.
  12. Click Finish.

EXAMPLE:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Sage\Common Components\IntegrationEngine.exe" -port 8885 -dir "C:\Sage\Sage 100 Premium ERP\MAS90\Home"

Run the Integration Engine as an application

  1. Open Services and confirm the Sage 100 ERP Integration Engine service is stopped.
  2. Double-click the shortcut you created.
  3. Allow the application to start.

NOTE:

Running the application displays additional dialogs and error details that aren’t available when it runs as a service.

 Prevent the service from starting automatically

If you plan to use the application continuously:
  1. Open the service properties.
  2. Change Startup Type to Manual or Disabled.

CAUTION:

Note: The Integration Engine application will run based on the login credentials of the user that launches the application on the server.
