How do I modify my firewall or Internet Security?

The firewall or antivirus mistakenly identified Sage or the Actian database as an intrusion threat.

Sage and Actian can co-exist with most commercially available firewalls. Successful integration depends on you properly setting up your firewall to allow Sage and Actian to function normally.

What firewall am I using?

1. Run our Security Application Scanner to search your computer for firewall and antivirus software.
2. Use the mouse to hover over the icons in the system tray. Each icon will give you the name of the application that’s running. Look for Internet Security or firewall software.
3. Select Start, All Programs, and then look for Internet Security or firewall software.
4. Select Start. Settings, Control Panel, Add/ Remove Programs, and then look for Internet Security or firewall software.
5. Press the Windows Key+R key, type services.msc, and then click OK. Look for Internet Security or firewall software in the services list.

Before installing Sage

1. Turn On your firewall software.
2. Turn On firewall alerts.
3. During installation if prompted by your firewall, always Allow or Unblock the following files.

• PeachtreePrefetcher.exe
• zenengsvc32.exe
• zenengnapp.exe
• Sagereg.exe
• Sagemgr.exe
• SmartPostingService[Version].exe
• During Installation some firewalls, like ZoneAlarm, can prompt you to allow other files. Allow these additional files as well

4. Sometimes it’s necessary to allow specific ports through: Allow TCP ports 443, 1583, 3351, and 5222 through your firewall

Make sure to set the following files to always Allow or Unblock within your firewall:
