How to perform a data conversion from a prior version

Description

Some Sage 50 Accounting upgrades change how data is processed. When opening your company file in a new version, the Data Conversion Wizard runs automatically. Sage 50 Accounting 2024 supports conversions from version 2018 onward. For older versions, contact Sage 50—U.S. Edition Support at 866-747-3888.

Resolution

  1. Open Sage 50.
  2.  Click Open an existing company, select your company and click OK. 
    •  NOTE: If your data isn’t on this computer, restore a backup as a New Company.
  3. The Data Conversion Wizard – Introduction window will appear; click Next.
  4. Confirm the company to convert, and click Next.
  5. In the Back Up Existing Company Information window, click the Back Up button and then click Save.
  6. Once you’ve saved your backup, click the Next button.
  7. Data conversion will start. Don't interrupt the process. 
  8. Once the conversion is complete, the Conversion Completed window will appear: click Finish.
