Summary
When opening Sage 50 Accounting, you receive a message that you need to change your password to comply with new security requirements.
Cause
- The password doesn’t meet security requirements
- Outdated or damaged DDF files
- Bad conversion
Resolution
Outdated or damaged DDF files
- Browse to your company's folder.
- Delete all files with extension *.DDF.
- Attempt to open your company.
If the problem persists:
- Browse to the data path.
- Delete the Reports folder.
- Run a Repair on Sage 50 Accounting.
- Reinstall any updates.
Damaged company data folder
- Create a clean data folder and perform an expendable file cleanup.
- Verify that you're able to log in to the company.
Bad conversion
- Restore backup made before previous conversion.
- Convert the company again and verify that you can log in to the company.
