Description

Errors include:

  • Error occurred while opening report - Please contact your System Administrator.
  • Error in formula: 'formula = FASFYEnd({SFA_Company_Information.Company Number}, 4,{Depreciation_Asset_Information,Deferred Date(Ace)})
  • FASFYEnd({SFA_Company_Information.Company Number}, 4,{Depreciation_Asset_Information,Deferred Date (Ace)})
  • This field name is not known
  • Error: "Could not load file or assembly'file:///C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Fixed Assets\Common Files\Sage.FAS.ReportWriter.dll' or one of its dependencies. Operation is not a supported. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131515)

Cause

Book ID for the ACE book changed from 5 to 4 when the additional books where added in the 2021.0 release. So the older reports formulas were not setup to handle that change.

Prior to 2021.0 release there was a hidden E&P book that used book ID 4 therefore ACE book used book ID 5.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the 2022.0 release.

Note: This is only for Depreciation, Depreciation Network and Premier Depreciation that also have Reporting release versions 2021.0 and 2021.1

Warning: When extracting the file using the Extract all in the File Explorer, security needs to be Unblocked before the extracted files can be used: Failure to unblock the security will cause a Could not load file or assembly... error.

  • Right-click the downloaded 20210CrystalFix.zip file, click Properties, on the General tab, put a check in the Unblock box near the bottom of the dialog and click OK.

Make sure to have the Sage Fixed Assets Depreciation application closed before applying the fix:

  1. Download and Extract 20210CrystalFix.zip which contains a new Sage.FAS.ReportWriter.dll and Sage.FAS.ReportWriter.tlb files.
  2. Rename the existing Sage.FAS.ReportWriter.dll file. C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Fixed Assets\Common Files or C:\SFAServ\Common (if client is installed on server), and copy the extracted Sage.FAS.ReportWriter.dll and Sage.FAS.ReportWriter.tlb into the same location.

Temporary workaround:

  1. Open crystal report via Reports menu, Reporting, open existing report
  2. Select open report with saved data at the prompt
  3. When report is open in Crystal Reports, click F5 button on keyboard to refresh the report.

If there is a need to report on a different company than what the report was showing for the saved data then do the following:

  1. Select the correct company in the correct database inside the SFA Depreciation client
  2. Make sure to follow steps 1-3 in the above temporary workaround
  3. When the report opens inside Crystal Reports click Report menu, Select Expert, Record.
  4. Select Expert dialog opens, find tab by name SFA_Company_Information.Company Name in the Select Expert dialog box and change the company name in the list or type it into the formula screen.
  5. When that is set properly in the above screen, click OK button and refresh the report to show you the asset data from the correct company or companies.
