Imported transactions that could not be matched to an existing Sage 50 transaction in the selected account are added to the reconciliation list and red-flagged as new bank records.
Records may not be matched because the transaction date or reference are different, because the transaction is part of a deposit ticket in Sage 50 but listed individually on the bank statement, or because the transaction does not exist in Sage 50.
Most banks only record cash deposits as deposit ticket totals; checks, credit card transactions, transfers, etc. should not be included on deposit tickets.
Before proceeding with reconciliation, you should manually match or add the red-flagged transactions.
Go to Tasks, Account Reconciliation
Select the appropriate GL Account
To manually match a red-flagged transaction to an existing Sage 50 transaction, right-click the red-flagged transaction and select Manual Match
Select the corresponding Sage 50 record, then click OK/Next
To add a new transaction, right-click the red-flagged transaction and select Create New, then Account Register, Write Checks, Beginning Transactions or General Journal Entry (as a rule of thumb, receipts and payments should be done as Account Register entries; transfers and bank adjustments/fees should be done as general journal entries)
Repeat Steps 3-5 until all records are matched or added
Manually clear, by checking Status next to the transaction, any uncleared transactions that are on the bank statement
