Summary
Sage Timeslips runs on Microsoft Terminal Services using a peer-to-peer setup when the server also acts as a workstation. Each network user requires separate preference, dictionary, and template configurations.
Resolution
Terminal Server configuration
Use a peer-to-peer setup when running Timeslips on a Terminal Server that also functions as a workstation.
- Use different network logins when multiple users access Timeslips simultaneously
- Use the same network login when only one remote user accesses Timeslips at one time
- Timeslips doesn’t support sharing Preferences, Personal Dictionaries, or Timeslips Today Templates in a Terminal Server environment
Preference Setup
Configure preferences for each network login.
- Log in as the network user.
- Start Timeslips, then select the correct Timekeeper login.
- Click Setup, then Preferences.
- Click Save As, then browse to a folder the user can access.
- Save the file using the network user ID.
- Click Retrieve on the file name you save above.
Personal Dictionary Setup
- In Preferences, click the Spelling tab.
- Click Browse, then select a folder the user can access. You can save the Personal Dictionary in My Documents or in the Timeslips data folder.

- Message "The personal spelling dictionary file you entered doesn’t exist. Timeslips will create a new one for you" appears.
- Click OK when Timeslips creates the new dictionary file.
