How to run payroll reports for closed years in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

There are three types of payroll reports that affect the date range you’re able to pull.


  1. The Payroll Journal and Payroll Check Register
    • The Payroll Journal and Payroll Check Register can be filtered for any date range.
  2. Non-calculated reports
    • The following reports can pull information in the two open payroll years only. To pull old payroll data, restore a backup to a new folder. You can then run any of the following reports on the restored old data with no issues:
      • Current Earnings Report
      • Quarterly Earnings Report
      • Yearly Earnings Report
      • Payroll Register
  3. Calculated Reports
    • The following reports calculate tax information as the report is run, so they can only be run in the two open fiscal years AND you must also have a tax service subscription for the year you’re running the report.
      • Exception Report
      • Payroll Tax Report
      • Tax Liability Report
      • Vacation and Sick Time Report
