Summary

Database locations for all versions of Sage Fixed Assets.

Resolution

For Depreciation and Lite Depreciation

  1. Go to: File, Database List Manager.
  2. Highlight a database and read the Database Path at the bottom of the window.

For Network Edition

  1. The location is local to the server.
  2. Confirm locations in the Database Utility - Network Depreciation and Tracking on the server.
  3. Go to: File, Edit Company. The database name shows in the lower left corner.

For Premier Edition

  1. The system stores your database on your SQL Server.
  2. Locate the SQL Server from a client workstation or the server.
  3. Go to registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Best Software\MSBESTSYS and view the Enginename. This is the name of your SQL server.

If the program isn’t accessible (Depreciation, Lite Depreciation, and Network)

  • Search in Windows for files FAS.DB, BEST.DB or *.BDB (entered as FAS.DB;BEST.DB;*.BDB to search for all at once).
  • The default location for the FAS.DB is:
    • Single User: C:\Program Files\Sage Fixed Assets\Depreciation\Data
    • Network (on server): C:\SFASERV\Data
Sage doesn't recommend moving data by copying databases. However, if you copy a database, copy ONLY the database file (*.db or *.bdb).
