Summary
The payroll audit in Sage 100 Contractor reports mismatching rates or maximums for FICA, Medicare, CPP, EI.
Cause
Social Security/Medicare or CPP/EI rates or maximums on 5-2-1 Employees and 5-3-1 Payroll Calculations don't match.
The calculation doesn't exist on the employee's record because they're exempt.
Resolution
Update the Rate or Maximum
- Open 5-3-1 Payroll Calculations.
- From the pick list of calculations, choose Employer Social Security/Medicare or CPP/EI.
- Compare the Rate or Default Max with the correct rate or maximum.
- If necessary, update the value.
- If you changed the value, choose Options, Update Employees, Update Default Rate and Maximum, ALL Employees.
- When you see a confirmation message, click Yes.
- A message confirms the number of updates
- Click OK.
- From 5-3-1 Payroll Calculations, repeat steps 3 – 7 for Employee Social Security/Medicare or CPP/EI payroll calculations.
- Open 5-3-7 Payroll Audit and click Repair.
- A message confirms employee totals
- Click Yes.
For Exempt Employees
- Add the calculation to the 5-2-1 Employees Calculations tab.
- In the column marked Active, enter No.
- Open 5-3-7 Payroll Audit and choose Repair.
- A message confirms employee totals
- Click Yes.
