Summary
Sage BusinessWorks lets users with the rights to Maintain Users, create user records and assign security access. Grant or deny access to tasks on a company by company basis.
Description
- The Sage BusinessWorks security settings are separate from the required Windows permissions
- Set access by task and company
- There's no default Read-Only profile
- Removing access doesn’t remove the company from the user’s list
Resolution
Create a new user
- Log in as the MANAGER.
- From the Launcher select Utilities, Maintain Users.
- To add a new user, click New and enter the User ID.
- Select Save.
Assign default security access
After saving, select the default access level.
- Select Yes to grant access to all tasks in all companies.
- Select No to restrict access and configure permissions manually.
Configure user security settings
- Click Security Settings.
- Use the Company ID lookup to select the company.
- Review available tasks.
- Clear any checkboxes to remove access to that the corresponding task/module. These are the tasks that the user won't have access to.
Copy User Security settings
Save time by copying security settings for users with similar access.
- Define security settings for one user.
- Select the Copy From button at the Maintain User Security window.
- Copy the settings for new users as they’re created.
Save user setup
Review all selections, then save changes.
