Resolution
Use the AR Bank Deposits option to record customer payments to the CM Reconcile Checking Account option. This procedure enables you post one transaction to Cash Management to match the deposit delivered to your bank.
- Post receipts in Accounts Receivable
- On the AR menu, point to Transactions, and click Post Receipts
- On the AR menu, point to Transactions and click Bank Deposits
- Select the time period and click the Cash Receipts button
- Select the receipts from the list provided to mark for deposit
- Set the Deposit date to the date you deposited the receipts with your bank
- Click Deposit to move the receipts to the CM Reconcile Checking Account option
Important information:
- The AR and CM cash accounts should post to the same General Ledger account
- On the AR menu, point to Utilities, and click Maintain Posting Accounts
- On the CM menu, point to Accounts, and click Maintain Cash Accounts
- Because posting the receipts updates the General Ledger, no GL posting occurs in the AR Bank Deposits option. Amounts entered in the Additional deposit or Cash back fields must be reflected in the GL through journal entries posted from other sources
- To record another deposit without closing the option and restarting it, click the Select Account button. This clears the fields in the window so that you can select a new account number
- To void a bank deposit, point to Transactions, and click Void Bank Transactions on the CM menu
