Reverse transactions will not change what appears in Sage Employee Self Service.
To reverse a transaction:
- From the Navigation Pane, select Payroll, US or Canadian, Processes, and Reverse Transactions
- Enter Bank Code.
- Change the Source Application from Bank Services to US Payroll
- Select the Reverse Document and/or check the Reverse Multiple Transactions box for reversing multiple transactions
- Enter a Reason for Reversal
- Enter a Reversal Date (Note: the date entered as the reversal date will also be the period end date for the reversal)
- Select an employee id
- Select Check/Payment Number to reverse
- Click 'Post'
To confirm the reversing entry:
From the Navigation Pane, select Employees, View/Edit Employee, select Employee, Payroll Tab for the employee, Employee Activity icon, Checks.
The first line is the original check and the second line is the entry for the void.
Additional Information:
Once a payment has been reversed it cannot be undone (i.e., a reverse cannot be reversed) through the user interface and the data must be restored prior to doing the reverse transaction. It is always recommended that the database is backed up before making any changes to the database or at least nightly. This gives the end user a safety net in case a restore is needed.
