Important: Beginning reporting year 2023 - per IRS requirements, if you have more than 10 forms, you must eFile.
Employee W-2s
- Go to Payroll, Tasks, Federal eFiling and Reporting.
- Select the appropriate form. If offered, test-drive the process for all employees.
- Complete the wizard screens to advance to the W2/1099 Preparer grid (you will go through multiple windows prior to accessing the grid).
- From the View menu, select W-3/W-2 Report.
- The number of forms appears below Total number of Forms W-2.
State Forms
Note: This is only required if you will not eFile State W-2s.
- Go to Payroll, Tasks, Federal eFiling and Reporting.
- Select the appropriate form. If offered, test-drive the process for all employees.
- Complete the wizard screens and W-2/1099 Preparer grid to advance to the W-2 Printing and Filing options.
- Under the Other Options list, select Print State W-2s and Reconciliation Forms only.
- Make sure all the states you have to submit printed W-2s to are selected.
- Proceed through the wizard and total the number of pages that appears in the top left of the window for each state.
