Error: "...not a valid integer value" when printing or previewing reports

Summary

The error occurs when printing or previewing reports in Sage BusinessWorks if there are invalid characters in a record.  This occurs when copying and pasting text from other applications into Sage BusinessWorks.

Description

  • '0' is not a valid integer value
  • ' is not a valid integer value
  • Integer Value not a valid integer number

Cause

Customer Support has found that this issue commonly occurs when copying data from another source. For example, copying an email address from another document into Sage BusinessWorks.

Resolution

To locate the damaged record:

  1. Preview the report to the screen.
  2. Scroll down slowly using the scroll bar until the error occurs.
  3. The point where the error occurs is the damaged record.
  4. Go to the record in question and see if the record has invalid characters. For example, if it’s AP then go to AP, Vendors, Maintain Vendors.

If you’re unable to locate the record contact Sage Customer Support to schedule a data repair to locate the invalid characters.
