Resolution
CAUTION: This solution requires advanced knowledge of Windows security and network settings. Sage isn't responsible for any issues that may arise from changes to these settings. Back up all system and application databases needed for a complete restoration. Consider contacting a certified consultant or your system administrator for assistance.
Step 1: Share the folder
- At the server, right-click the Windows Start button, select File Explorer.
- Find the shared folder where you installed the Sage BusinessWorks program (example C:\Sage).
- Right-click the shared folder (Sage), and select Properties.
- Select the Sharing tab.
- Click Advanced Sharing...
- Click Share this folder.
Step 2: Set Permissions on the folder
- Click Permissions.
- Grant full control rights for all users that will be using Sage BusinessWorks.
- Click OK.
- Click OK again.
Step 3: Set Security on the folder
- Click Security tab.
- Verify that all users that will be using Sage BusinessWorks have full control rights.
- If you don’t see the user listed, click Edit, then Add...
- Add the desired users or groups and grant Full Control access.
NOTE: Actian recommends that if user permissions are overly restrictive that you give full control rights to the 'SYSTEM' user on the Sage folder.
