Do I need to archive or close payroll if I only use it to capture Job Costs?

Even if you only use the payroll module to capture job costs, it is recommended to archive the oldest payroll year, in Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor, to keep the number of 5-2-2 Payroll Records at a minimum.  However, if you haven't posted payroll to your general ledger using menu 5-2-6 Post Payroll to GL and only use the payroll module to capture job costs, there is no requirement to archive the oldest payroll year or close the payroll year.
