Summary

Sage 100 Desktop Launcher opens after logging in, then closes immediately with no error

Cause

The "..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\SY_System.m4t" file has a Broadcast Shutdown flag set to "Y" to prevent users from logging in.

Resolution

CAUTION: This solution requires advanced knowledge of Windows security and network settings. Sage isn't responsible for any issues that may arise from changes to these settings. Back up all system and application databases needed for a complete restoration. Consider contacting a certified consultant or your system administrator for assistance.

Someone broadcast a system shut down from the Master Console, but has not terminated the shutdown.

Any one of the following will resolve this issue:

  1. Find the workstation where the shutdown was broadcast from and press the 'OK' button.
  2. Rename the 'Sage 100" folder under documents.
  3. Retrieve the "..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\SY_System.m4t" from a recent backup, prior to the shutdown attempt.
  4. Access a different Sage 100 installation (if available), then use the Data File Display and Maintenance utility to Open and Edit the "..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\SY_System.m4t" file in the problem installation, changing the BroadcastShutdown$ field from Y to N
    •  NOTE: Sage 100 Customer Support can obtain a copy of the file, edit it, then return the file
    • For the Premium Version, access the SQL table SY_System instead of the SY_System.m4t and change BroadcastShutdown column to N.
  5. Try renaming the "Sage 100" folder in the Documents folder on the workstation with the issue.

In one instance, the issue was occurring on a single workstation. The resolution in this case was to de-select the Automatic logoff option in User Maintenance, Preferences tab.
