Can I print financial statements for a future period? (Create a Future Statement)

Created on  | Last modified on

Description

Note:

  • There are two Trial Balance reports, one in the Reports menu and one in Financial Statements. These steps only apply to the one in Financial Statements. The Trial Balance and Working Trial Balance in the Reports menu cannot be modified to show future periods.
  • Financial Statements that include future fields do not function properly if the period is rolled back when the statement is generated.
  • Do not cross a year end with a future balance sheet design. The retained earnings amount will not be correct.

Cause

Financial statements cannot automatically roll forward to a future period

  2. Double-click the column heading where you want to insert the new column.
  3. In the Column Options window, click Insert if you want to add a column before the current column, or click Append to add a column after the current column.
  4. Verify that the Balance fields option is selected under the Field type section.
  5. Select Future Balance or one of the Future Activity fields.
  6. Click Add, click Done, and then click OK.
