Error: "Unable to open takeoff...locked by another user"

Summary

Error: "Unable to open takeoff: record is currently locked by another user [user name]" when attempting to open a menu 9-5 Takeoff in Sage 100 Contractor.

Cause

The Sage 100 Contractor application encountered an error while the user was working in the 9-5 Takeoff.

Resolution

  1. Connect to Sage 100 Contractor as the user identified in the error message.
  2. Open 9-5 Takeoffs.
  3. Open and close the Takeoff record.
  4. Close Sage 100 Contractor.
  5. Connect to Sage 100 Contractor as another user.
  6. Open 9-5 Takeoffs.  Open the Takeoff record.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, contact Sage Customer Support to schedule a file repair.
