How to create a new company or a new company based on an existing company in Sage 100 Contractor.

Resolution

1. Create a new company

  1. Connect to Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor on the server.
  2. Click Add/Delete Companies.
  3. Click Create Company.
     NOTE: You can choose Create Company Based on Existing, choose the source company, and enter a unique name.
  4. Enter a unique name.  
  5. Click Create Company.

 CAUTION: The bank feeds won't work if you create a company based on the sample company. 

2. Assign an administrator for the new company

  1. Connect to Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor.
  2. Click Company Admins/SQL Logins...
  3. Select the company to manage, and select the new company you created.
  4. From Select a company administration, pick the user and click Create Admin User.

3. Log in to the company

  1. Open the company database using an admin user account.
  2. Open menu 1-8 General Ledger Setup.  NOTE: Set up your chart of accounts for the new company. The program creates the chart of accounts identical to the existing company when you use an existing company. 
  3. Open menu 7-1 Company Information to fill in the details.
    • Company name
    • Company address
    • License number
    • Federal tax identification number
    • State tax identification number
    • Resale number
    • Telephone and fax numbers
    • Email address
    • Direct Deposit information (account number, routing number, and the account type)
  4. Select File and Save.
