Summary
How to create or modify a query in Sage 100 Contractor.
Resolution
- Click File and Find from a record window.
- Click New in the Queries window to create a new query.
- Click Copy to modify an existing query.
- Enter or edit the Query Title.
- Click Next.
- Select the fields to display on the query:
- Select the primary table from the Tables on the left.
- Select the box List Fields by Name, on the right (optional).
- Double-click on the fields from the Fields in [name of table] list on the right.
TIP: Always add the Record# field to your new query. This improves searchability. - This adds the field to the bottom panel and displays it in the query results.
- In the bottom panel, you can perform the following actions:
- Add grouping by dragging columns to the group area in the dark gray band
- Add sorting with a left-click on a column — The number next to the column represents the groups
- Include multiple sorts in the main column row — Hold the shift key and click more columns
- Reorder columns by dragging them to a different location
- Remove columns from the report (Right-click, Remove)
- Click Next.
- Select the fields to include for the query selection criteria:
- Select the primary table from the Tables on the left.
- Select the box List Fields by Name, on the right (optional).
- Double-click on the fields from the Fields in [name of table] list on the right.
TIP: Always add the Record# field to your new query. This improves searchability. - The field appears in the bottom panel's selection criteria.
- Enter a comparison option (For example, "Equal to", or "Between" and a parameter for each field.
NOTE: Leave the parameter text box blank to enter a specific value when running the query.
- Click Finish.
