Item ID lookup list highlights multiple item IDs at once

Selecting items on an invoice selects multiple items at once on the item ID dropdown list in Sage 50 Accounting.

1. Close Sage 50.
2. Click the Windows Start button, and in the Search field, type Check for updates.
3. Select Check for updates. In Windows Update, download and install any outstanding updates.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Verify that the issue is resolved.

As a workaround, you can select the item with the mouse by clicking the dropdown and scrolling with the mouse cursor. Or disregard the highlight as it will only select the last one you stop on when scrolling with the keyboard. Also, the issue will be less prevalent if the option "dropdown list displays automatically" is disabled in the company global options settings.

To disable this setting:

1. Open your Sage 50 company and click Options, Global from the top toolbar.
2. Click the General tab.
3. In the Smart Data Entry section, uncheck the box next to the dropdown list displays automatically.
4. Click OK.
