Item ID lookup list highlights multiple item IDs at once

Selecting items on an invoice selects multiple items at once on the item ID drop-down list.


  1. Close Sage 50.
  2. Restart the computer.
  3. Verify that the issue is resolved.
Please note that this is a cosmetic issue that may be caused by a recent Windows update, specifically Windows Cumulative Update Preview (KB5022478 & KB5022405) and Security update for Windows (KB5022282), removing and reinstalling these updates may correct the issue.

As a workaround, you can select the item with the mouse by clicking the dropdown and scrolling with the mouse cursor or disregard the highlight as it will only select the last one you stop on when scrolling with the keyboard. Additionally the issue will be less prevalent if the option "Drop-down list displays automatically" is disabled in the company global options settings.

To disable this setting:

  1. Open your Sage 50 company and click on Options, Global from the top toolbar.
  2. Click on the General tab.
  3. In the Smart Data Entry section uncheck the box next to Drop-down list displays automatically.
  4. Click OK.
