Which forms should I order for Sage 300 for year-end? (U.S.)

Do I need to use perforated forms? 

Yes. IRS publication 1141 states to use a perforated form when printing 4-up forms. These make it easy for an employee to separate the various copies.

Is it necessary to include W-2 instructions for the employee?

Yes. IRS publication 1141 states that employers must provide instructions to recipients of W-2 forms. The supported forms have pre-printed instructions on the reverse side.

Are the pre-printed W-2 forms still available? 

Yes. Sage Checks and Forms stocks multiple versions of forms including W-2, 1099, 1098, and others.

The W-2 Copy A (Federal Copy) is normally red, but this version prints in all black. Is that OK? 

Yes. Sage Payroll Tax Forms and eFiling by Aatrix has authorization from the IRS to print the entire W-2 Federal Copy A on plain paper using black laser printer ink. The software prompts you to insert plain paper to print the Federal Copy A.
