How to customize Power Search lookups

Customizing Power Search lookups will allow the user to obtain desired information at a glance, and also provides a one button Export to Excel feature to take the information from the lookup into a MS Excel worksheet. The information collected in the lookup can be re-sorted, and the columns may be moved simply by clicking on the column header and dragging the information to the left or right. Click on the column header to resort the information in ascending or, descending order.

To customize a Power Search lookup

1. Select a Binocular lookup, such as Accounts Receivable, Customers, Maintain Customers, Binoculars
2. The system defaults to the Quick Search tab, select Power Search instead.
3. Select the Customize button, then select New
4. Give your customized view a Name, and select the primary Field to Search. Within this form, the Match criteria may be set, in relation to the information entered in the Search for field. The search may be limited to the first 400 records (Show 400 records), or Show All Records may be selected. There is also a check box to Exclude inactive records to exclude customers whose status has been changed to 'inactive'
5. At this time, select the Find Now button. Once the records have loaded into the lower portion of the screen, notice that the column headers may be moved left or right according to your preference. Also, selecting a column header, the information may also be resorted in ascending or descending order.
6. Once the Power Search has been set up, select the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
7. The Auto load power search button may be selected to bypass the Quick Search and go directly to the Power Search.
8. Once the customized Power Search has been defined and named, it may be selected as the Default View by selecting Power Search, Customize. Select the Default View window at the bottom of the screen, then select the Power Search desired to be the default.
